Prosecutor Myriam Rodríguez, from the Specialized Unit n.° 2 of Smuggling, intervened this Friday in a procedure carried out in Asunción where a truck carrying fruit and vegetable products was seized. Apparently, the load of onions, tomatoes and potatoes did not have the required documentation and had been smuggled into the country. 120 boxes of tomatoes, 119 bags of white onions, 100 bags of purple onions, all weighing 20 kilograms each, and 50 bags of potatoes of Argentinean origin were seized. The procedure was supported by agents of the National Police and the Operational Coordination of Customs Investigation (COIA), under the National Directorate of Tax Revenue (DNIT).
