Коммуникация или управление?
Political Agnostic | Montevideo @|In light of the government’s declining approval ratings, the ruling party argues that the main cause is poor communication of its achievements, even suggesting that good news should be reported directly by the President. Communication matters, but does it alone explain this trend? The data indicate that it does not. According to Cifra, the President’s approval rating fell from 43% in October 2025 to 31% in March 2026 and to 20% in June, while disapproval reached 65%. Equipos recorded a similar decline. One piece of data is crucial: the decline is not limited to the opposition but extends to voters within the Frente Amplio itself. Is it reasonable to attribute this disillusionment among his own supporters solely to communication failures? Furthermore, the polls reveal that the President’s personal image outperforms the evaluation of his administration. This demonstrates that we are not facing a problem of charisma or presidential image, but rather an issue regarding the assessment of the policies implemented. Attributing the decline to communication failures is a political hypothesis, not a conclusion supported by evidence. The fundamental question is not whether the government effectively communicates what it is doing, but rather what the public thinks of what it is actually doing. It is one thing for people to be unaware of the government’s achievements; it is quite another for them to be aware of them yet not view them favorably. The government and its political party should stop “escaping” from reality.
