Cristina Kirchner hospitalized for abdominal pain: the former president was transferred to a clinic in Buenos Aires.
Former President Cristina Kirchner was admitted to a clinic in Buenos Aires after suffering abdominal pain on Saturday afternoon, according to sources close to the former president, as confirmed by LA NACION. Cristina Kirchner was in her apartment in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Constitución, where she is under house arrest, when she began experiencing abdominal pain. A team of doctors arrived at her home and, after evaluating her, determined that she needed to be transferred for a more thorough evaluation. With judicial authorization, the former president was transferred to the Otamendi Clinic in Recoleta, where she is currently being treated. This clinic is where the former president usually receives treatment for her health problems. In 2021, she underwent a hysterectomy there, which involves the surgical removal of the uterus, and is the last publicly known procedure performed on the leader of the Justicialist Party (PJ). Meanwhile, when she was in charge of the Casa Rosada in 2012, Cristina Kirchner underwent an operation to remove a tumor from her thyroid gland, which was performed at the Austral University Hospital in Pilar. A year later, in 2013, she had a chronic subdural collection removed from her head at the Favaloro Foundation University Hospital. On other occasions, she was also hospitalized for several days at different health centers in the AMBA area for various conditions, but of lesser severity. Since June of this year, the former president has been under house arrest in her apartment at 1111 San José Street, as part of her sentence in the Vialidad case. Due to a series of court orders, she has limited visits and meeting times, as well as wearing an electronic ankle bracelet. This week, the court authorized a request made by her defense team: the possibility for the former president to access and remain on the terrace of her building for two hours. La Nación GDA
